SAMIAM

Wed. May. 15 - 7:00 pm - All ages - BUY TICKETS HERE!
SAMIAM - listen
Samiam is a band from Berkeley, California formed in late 1988 after the breakup of the Gilman Street club mainstay Isocracy. Their first show was an unlikely pairing in January 1989 with peace punks Christ on Parade that illustrated. The band has released over a half dozen independent records through New Red Archives, No Idea and Hopeless Records in the US and Burning Heart/ Epitaph in Europe. In the mid-90s, the band had two releases on a major labels, Atlantic Records in 1994 and Ignition/Tommy Boy in 1997. This path achieved modest mainstream success; a video for Capsized gained a lot of airplay on MTV, they performed on the Jon Stewart Show in 1994 and the single, "She Found You" garnered considerable radio play in 1998. The band toured extensively throughout Europe, North & South America, Australia and Japan with the likes of Bad Religion, Green Day, The Toadies, Sense Field, Blink 182 and Millencolin.
OFF WITH THEIR HEADS - listen
The phrase "punk" gets thrown around a lot these days but for over a decade Off With Their Heads has eschewed trends and embodied that ethic with every ounce of their being. Having put out numerous releases and toured the country dozens of times the band are about to release Home, their best-sounding album to date which takes the group's sound to the next level without sacrificing the palpable passion that's made them underground favorites.
KALI MASI - listen
Kali Masi is a punk rock band from Chicago’s ever-ripening music scene. Kali Masi is clever and cathartic, offering melodies sculpted around angles and curves that will pull even the most jaded punks in from the back of the room. Their singles Jejune and Sputter showcase the bands aggressive and meditative roots while foreshadowing the sure-fire full-length Wind Instrument to be released in 2017.

AUSTIN LUCAS

Thu. May. 23 - 7:00 pm - 18+ - BUY TICKETS HERE!
AUSTIN LUCAS - listen
Austin Lucas has come home. It’s been over two decades since the songwriter packed his bags and left Bloomington, Indiana, the Midwestern town where he spent his childhood years falling in love with rock & roll, embracing his punk roots, and standing his ground whenever intolerant locals didn’t understand his way of life. He returns to that place – both creatively and physically – with his seventh studio album, Immortal Americans. Written after a tumultuous period that found Lucas getting sober, supporting his partner through a battle with cancer, and breaking up with his longtime record label, Immortal Americans is a clear-eyed album for murkier times, rooted in stripped-down heartland rock songs that find the artist reflecting upon the changes in both his hometown and himself.
THE FAMILY GOLD - listen
Honky tonk heroes, The Family Gold, are coming off the release of their debut vinyl 45 from Soul Step Records featuring the single, Absolutely Nothing. The music lends itself to the hardworking culture of the city, with all its true grit and glory. Led by Benjamin Miles on guitar and vocals, and Michelle Morales on upright bass, the members bring to the stage a diverse background of inspiration ranging from Mississippi Delta Blues, Western Swing, the Cajun country of Louisiana, and country music of the '40s. The band is now back in the studio working on their first full length. Recommended for the two-steppers, whiskey drinkers, and all around American music lovers.
JOE WORTELL & THE NATURAL LAW
Joe Wortell And The Natural Law are a Four-piece Classic Outlaw country band from Chicago and Nashville that play clever and inspired arrangements that fuse subtle hints of Blues, Surf, R&B and Pop with the great songs of Hank, Waylon, Merle, Cash and beyond. These along with their fine crafted originals can veer into spirited improvisational jams but never stray too far from the essence of a great song.
SPARKLE CARCASS - listen
Chicago based band playing countrified rockers and belt buckle polishers.

OFF BROADWAY
Off Broadway is an American rock band founded by Paul Darrow, Cliff Johnson, Paul McDermott, John Pazdan and Dan Santercola in 1977 in Oak Park, Illinois. The album reached No. 101 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the single "Stay in Time", which reached No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 record charts. Off Broadway released a follow-up album, QUICK TURNS, on Atlantic Records in 1980 and continued touring for three years before breaking up in 1983. Along the way, they became colleagues with Cheap Trick. The band is currently composed of original album performers John Ivan, Cliff Johnson, John Pazdan, Ken Harck, and Rob Harding. They are currently performing around Chicago in preparation of celebrating the 40th anniversary of their debut "ON".

DRILLING FOR BLASTING

Sat. Jun. 08 - 8:00 pm - 18+ - BUY TICKETS HERE!
Chicago's post-punk blues-infused duo Drilling for Blasting are releasing their much-anticipated first full length record since starting almost six years ago. A joint release by Underground Communique Records (Chicago) and Let's Pretend Records (Bloomington, Indiana), the Electrical Audio-recorded "Fingers Are The Best Eyes" contains ten tracks, and features art by Ian Floetl. To kick off the vinyl release, Drilling for Blasting will be joined by scene veterans Chicken Happen, The Brokedowns, and WIG - an eclectic mix of true Chicago underground / indy / punk / post-punk talent - in a truly unique show experience. The show's format features all four bands set up with four sound systems. Each band will play a song in turn, with the audience ”in the round”, providing two hours of continuous music - a FOUR WAY SHOW - the likes of which Chicago showgoers have never experienced before.
DRILLING FOR BLASTING - listen
Drilling for Blasting is a two piece band that sounds like a three and a half piece. "Making music un-relate-able to the common man, but beloved by musicians and sound engineers". Its the sort of loud, weird, odd, but grooving tunes that you might or might not expect from these two old fucking dogs.
THE BROKEDOWNS - listen
Los Crudos meets Pavement
WIG
Various post-punk sounds from former and current members of Closed Mouths, Polish Gifts, and Masonic Wave.
CHICKEN HAPPEN (members of Dirtybird and Your Mothership) - listen
Chicken Happen is a band that makes it happen! This poly-gendered, multi-racial trio is a blend of punk rock and folk music. You know those mexican lollipops in the shape of a chicken that have the spicy chili powder on it? Well that's kind of what we're like--a little spicy and a little sweet.
